What is the Owner role in MediSprout?

This article explains the Owner role on the MediSprout platform — who is assigned to it, how it relates to the Admin role, and what capabilities are exclusive to the Owner. Use it as a reference if you administer a MediSprout organization or need to understand who controls sensitive settings such as data export, subscriptions, and the Stripe dashboard.

Who is the Owner?

  • The Owner role is assigned automatically to the person who creates the organization in MediSprout.
  • There is one Owner per organization.
  • The Owner is also an Admin — meaning the Owner has every capability that any Admin has, plus a small set of additional capabilities that no other Admin has, even if they hold the Admin role.
  • The role exists specifically so that certain sensitive actions are restricted to a single person rather than to every administrator.

Owner vs Admin — what's the same, what's different

All Admin capabilities — scheduling, managing personnel, managing patients, viewing organizational information, and so on — are available to both Admins and the Owner. The Owner role only matters for a small, well-defined list of capabilities.

Capabilities exclusive to the Owner

  1. Information export — only the Owner can export information from the organization. This applies to any organization-level data export available in the platform.
  2. Full access to the Stripe dashboard as account owner — the Owner has full access to the organization's Stripe dashboard. Other Admins do not have access to another admin's dashboard.
  3. Subscription management — the Owner is the only person in the organization who can access and edit the subscription information, including subscription plan, payment methods, recent transactions, and current usage.

How can I tell who the Owner is?

The Owner is visible on the Organization details screen. Admins reviewing the personnel list can also see the Owner indicated alongside the member's role.
