How to use patient notes

Take, file, and secure shareable patient notes, and keep psychotherapy notes private as well, a feature unique to mental and behavioral healthcare practices.

From the MediSprout main menu, select Patients to see a list of your patients. This list shows all patients, patient information, and account status. Patients' accounts must be activated for you to enter notes. (Only patients can activate their accounts.)

Search for your patient quickly by name or email address. Select the patient for whom you would like to enter notes or use the search tool to find a patient.  In this view, you will see all notes entered for that patient to date. Use the filter tools to search for notes by author, specialty, or date. 

For a patient with an active account, select Provider notes. Each note entry features a View/Edit Notes option for reviewing notes or updating. Be sure to Save Notes anytime you edit or add to a prior note. 

To start a new note entry, select the blue Add note button. 

In the Add notes feature, you will see two fields. One for Provider & Patient Notes (or shared notes) and another for Patient Notes (not sharable). Enter your notes and select Save. If you close a window before saving your notes, you will get a notice to Save or Dismiss your notes. 

Select Close at the top of the screen to exit the Notes page for that patient. 

Your patients will automatically be notified anytime you update or add a Patient Note.
